Test the boundary, not just the endpoint

A small authorization test matrix can make role and tenant boundaries explicit.
Start with the intended access rule. A record endpoint needs to know both who is asking and whether that identity may access the particular record. Successful authentication alone does not answer the second question.
In an authorized test environment, create two synthetic users and separate records. Exercise the same operation as the owner and as the other user. Record the expected behavior before comparing the responses.
The mock assertion below expresses a negative test. Adapt expected responses to the application’s contract, and confirm that a denied request produces no unintended change.
// Pseudocode: isolated test environment and synthetic records only
const response = await testClient.as(userB).read(recordOwnedByA);
